Designed around a tradie work lifestyle this simple family home is simplicity over bells and whistles. A basic function of keeping dirty work clothes away from habitable spaces by allowing smooth transition from the garage to laundry and dump zones. Secondary movement of the quick access from the laundry to the beer fridge.

By keeping the layout simple and minimising passage flow allowed the young family to reduce the building footprint but provide generous proportions to bedrooms and living areas. Bedrooms are all located to the upper floor and living areas centralised around a large outdoor living space to the rear. The home is then pushed to the front of the block with a side access garage and minimised street setbacks. This then provides future subdivision potential when the owners are ready for back lot redevelopment.

The house was constructed fully out of light weight construction methodology utilising EPS and fibre cement cladding to enhance a modern street elevation. By not looking at alternative brick and concrete construction the builder and client significantly reduced build times and provided a more economical build as a comparison to brick.
