A client’s love for the tree lined streets, existing heritage and soul that engulfs the Shenton Park back streets. The existing character house was retained and a modern rear extension that better utilised the small lot footprint and corner lot position with northern orientation configured. The rear extension developed a new living area and expanded for the new minor bedrooms to the upper floor, allowing the existing house to renovated for new master suite and office area.. Cladding materials that were sympathetic with the architectural style and details of the existing house were used with shingles and painted face brick the main materials contrasted against the weatherboard cladding and vertical positioned window and door formats.
