The existing dilapidated building needed a major overhaul or be demolished and new independent units allocated. After a collaborative approach with Bethanie we were able to retain the existing building structure and reduce significant waste and cost that comes with the traditional knockdown and rebuild process. By concentrating in on remodelling existing units internally to better suit the end user with a focus on natural light, soft colour tones and better egress patterns allowed the independent units to be more flexible in their useability. External facades and landscaped areas were completely revamped and overhauled to create a more interaction with the external spaces and internalised community connections. A soft and subtle approach was used to the building façade with majority white and modern coastal elements layered back with the surrounding bush and landscaping being the dominate element.
